My Dashboards

The Dashboards feature lets you create, manage, and share custom dashboards from your analytics. Dashboards can be shared in different ways and viewed either as a live feed of data or a static snapshot.

Note: The My Dashboards feature is only available to workspace Owners and Admins. Contributors and Users will not see the My Dashboards tab.

Dashboard Types

When creating a dashboard, you can choose between:

  • Live – Always shows the most up-to-date data.
  • Snapshot – A frozen version of your current data. It does not update automatically, but Owners and Admins can refresh it manually (replacing the previous version).

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Workspace Owners and Admins can refresh a Snapshot to update it with the most recent analytics data (if new data has been added since the snapshot was last saved).

Sharing Options

Dashboards can be shared in three ways:

  • Public – Visible to anyone with the link.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Great for embedding into a website or sharing with the public.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎‎ Does not require an HDE login.

  • Private – Only users you authorize by email can view.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ Requires viewers to have an HDE account.

  • Password Protected – Anyone with the link and password can view.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ Does not require an HDE login.

Creating a Dashboard

  1. Go to the Analytics page.
  2. Apply Advanced Filters if you want to save filtered data in the dashboard.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Note: Quick text search filters are not saved in dashboards.

  1. Choose whether to create a Live or Snapshot dashboard.
  2. Complete the Dashboard Setup screen by entering:

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Dashboard Name (publicly visible)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Description (private, for internal reference)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Type (Live or Snapshot)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Access Level (Public, Private, or Password Protected)

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Allow viewers to filter (Live dashboards only)

Allow Viewers to Filter (Live Dashboards Only)

  • This option is available for Live dashboards only.
  • Snapshot dashboards do not support viewer filtering.
  • You can update this setting later from the Edit Dashboard screen.

  1. Click Save. Once saved, it will appear under the My Dashboards tab.

Managing Dashboards

In the My Dashboards tab, you’ll see a list of all dashboards with previews. From here you can:

Edit Dashboard Settings

  • Description
  • Type
  • Access Level
  • Allow viewers to filter (Live dashboards only)
  • Visible Tabs

Changes are saved from the Edit Dashboard screen.

Manage Filters (Owners & Admins Only)

  • Open the dashboard in Preview mode.
  • Select Change Filters.
  • Adjust the filters as needed and click Save.
  • The dashboard will update accordingly.

It is recommended to review the dashboard name and description after updating filters.

Manage Visible Tabs

Control which Analytics tabs appear in the dashboard:

  1. Click the Edit icon from the My Dashboards page.
  2. Scroll to the Visible Tabs section.
  3. Uncheck any tabs you do not want displayed.
  4. Click Save Tab Visibility.

Only selected tabs will be visible to viewers of that dashboard.

For Snapshot dashboards, click Refresh to update the snapshot with the most recent analytics data.

Delete Dashboard

Permanently remove the dashboard.

Sharing Dashboards

From the My Dashboards page:

  1. Select the dashboard.
  2. Click Copy Link in the dashboard preview.
  3. Share the link with intended viewers or embed it into a public website (Public or Password Protected only).

Note: Charts in shared dashboards are view-only. End users cannot apply filters themselves.

Dashboards give you a flexible way to present your data, whether for internal team use, selective sharing, or public visibility.
